Nathaniel Jackson - NJ 138 - Framed

Finely drawn black ink outlines filled with shades of blue watercolor fill the entire sheet. The lines seem to describe aquatic creatures with hands, teeth or tails, tangled together to form a complex field of figurative forms. There are many different blues that range from very opaque navy to an almost transparent pale cerulean wash. There is a curvilinear quality to the lines that animates the image as if the creatures have formed themselves into a wriggling mass.
