Visually impaired, David Parsons relies on tactile means to complete his drawings and ceramics. When drawing, Parsons gently guides pencils on a page with the fingers of his other hand, and results in a sketch-like quality of a figure in motion. The rubbing of his hand against the page creates smoky fields against which his lines fade in and out. Roughly sculpted, Parsons' ceramic animals are not revealed until the glaze is applied with loose, yet carefully placed brush strokes that bring them to life.
